We are honoured to have been chosen to decorate an amazingly gorgeous wedding for our equally lovely and gorgeous couple, Philippe and Caryn. Thank you for choosing Wishing Tree to provide the ambience for your most treasured life event, and for allowing us to share these beautiful details with our dear readers.
Our gratitude to the infinitely talented Mun Keat for the photographs you will see here!
Caryn and Philippe held a Chinese traditional “tea ceremony” at home… how stylishly understated!
One of Caryn’s favourite parts of the wedding decor was the Japanese origami paper cranes, handmade meticulously and with love by her uncle. We strung them up for the Tea Ceremony in the morning.
When we think of Caryn and Philippe, “elegant” comes to mind immediately. It is no wonder that our couple chose to create a classic and elegant atmosphere to celebrate their big day with loved ones. A blush palette, with cream and champagne hues with accents of gold, Caryn said… And with lots of candlelight, mood lighting and drapes for warmth and romance.
Textures galore! The ballroom at Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur is transformed into a romantic space.
Our bride is a big lover of flowers, so it was only natural to have all her favourites at her wedding. Pink and white peonies, hydrangeas and lilies were top on Caryn’s list, and they are simply the perfect flowers for lushness and romance. Caryn entrusted us with the responsibility of choosing the other flowers that suited her theme. The colours were to be soft and muted, and she didn’t want the arrangements to look “too done up or perfect”.
In the reception area outside the ballroom: white orchids and white lilies on mirrored pedestals (left), and pink peonies with African mix (right).
We created a simple yet elegant atmosphere for the reception area outside the ballroom, where guests would mingle. Crisp, white arrangements of orchids and lilies set atop mirrored pedestals was a mix of modern and romantic. On the tables, smaller glass vases with pink peonies and African mix provided a dash of colour.
Using soft lines and textures on the wedding cake, and placing a single flower on your service plate can easily up the romantic factor.
If classic and romantic is what you’re going for, remember to keep your colours and lines soft, and incorporate pleasing textures wherever you can. Drapery and lots of candlelight definitely help in a big, big way!
One of our favourite photos of the evening, that encapsulates the whole mood and atmosphere of this beautiful wedding. The low floral arrangements for guest tables comprise lush white hydrangea, ivory roses, white matthiola and cream eustoma.
Tall floral arrangements for guest tables are striking at any level across the ballroom; they consist of white hydrangea, white phalaenopsis, and white and ivory roses.
Each table for guests featured a lovely centerpiece. Tall centerpieces were used on the tables flanking the bridal walkway, to add visual interest from the entrance all the way to the bridal table.
The very lush, very eye-catching centerpiece for the bridal table, comprising all-white blooms – roses, hydrangea, peonies, cymbidium, ornithogalum, matthiola and tulips.
The bridal table centerpiece was another favourite of our lovely bride. Bursting with texture from the lush petals, to the silverware and glassware, and romantic lighting doubled with the reflections from mirrored panels, the centerpiece was an attraction in itself. Caryn later told us that it had become a popular backdrop for the countless photos taken that night.
On the stage, a floating canopy of white cherry blossoms with stringed, white feathers and lots of shiny crystals.
We decided to do something a little different for the stage decor, where Philippe and Caryn would perform their cake-cutting ceremony. As you can see from the pictures above, the stage is not a big space and it would be unsightly for our couple to stumble around any floral arrangements that shared the limited floor space with them. By creating a floating canopy, it not only saved space, but it also helped with the overall visual and spacial interest – vertically, instead of horizontally and potentially messy.
Thank you so much, Philippe and Caryn, for sharing this beautiful day with us and our readers. We wish you both a most wonderful life journey together.
